 Focus Area Of SWIFTT 

SWIFTT, Inc. is a membership based, non-profit economic and community development organization working to attract and retain businesses and services to improve the quality of life for people who live and work in Southwest Rockford, Illinois.

A volunteer board of directors and various committees, comprised of a diverse cross-section of our community, meet regularly to undertake special projects and assist in the economic and social redevelopment and revitalization of this quadrant of our city.  

SWIFTT was founded in 1990, when we were incorporated as a 501(c)3, non-profit organization with the State of Illinois. In 1996, an office was opened and an Executive Director was hired. Various volunteer boards of directors and committees, comprised of a diverse cross-section of our community have been meeting regularly, undertaking special projects and assisting in the economic and social redevelopment and revitalization of this quadrant of the city since. ​Our funding is primarily through membership dues from participating businesses and individuals. We've also received limited funding from the City of Rockford Redevelopment Fund. All financial and material contributions are fully tax-deductible.


MISSION
Our mission is to create and maintain a positive image for Southwest Rockford, Illinois. Our goal is to promote economic and neighborhood development in Southwest Rockford to benefit residents, businesses and the community at large, and to provide and develop a leadership base.


IMPACT ZONE: SOUTHWEST ROCKFORD
Southwest Rockford is bounded by the Rock River to the east, Business Route 20/West State Street to the north, Meridian Road to the west and the Greater Rockford Airport to the south. SWIFTT's primary focus area reaches Central Avenue to the west, Cedar Street and Business Route 20 to the north, the Rock River to the east, and the Greater Rockford Airport to the south.  We work closely and cooperatively with all organizations in the area to promote the economic development of this region and the Greater Rockford Metro
