"Our primary target area is bounded by the Rock River to the east, Business Route 20 (W. State St.) to the north, Meridian Road to the west and the Greater Rockford Airport to the south. We work closely and cooperatively with all organizations in the area to promote the economic development of the Rockford Region."
"Our history as SWIFTT began in 1990, when we were incorporated as a 501(c)3, non-profit organization with the State of Illinois. Various volunteer boards of directors and committees, comprisedof a diverse cross-section of our community have been meeting regularly, undertaking special projects and assisting in the economic and social redevelopment and revitalization of this quadrant of the city.
SWIFTT opened an office and hired
an executive director in 1996."
"Our funding is primarily through membership dues from participating businesses and individuals. We've also received limited funding from the City of Rockford Redevelopment fund. All financial and material contributions are fully tax-deductible."
